The Adelaide 36ers are set to give 2020 a roaring start, hosting the Perth Wildcats in Adelaide’s first ever New Year’s Day game.
In the NBL 2019-20 schedule released today, the Sixers will launch their inaugural season at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 19 October against the Brisbane Bullets.
Sixers fans will be treated to a total of 14 homes games at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, with half of the games scheduled during the summer school holiday period.
The club’s schedule also features five Saturday, four Friday and three Sunday games.
Adelaide fans will also be spoilt mid-season by two visits from NBA prospect and new Hawk, LaMelo Ball. The Sixers will play Illawarra on Friday, 20 December 2019 and again less than three weeks later on Monday, 6 January 2020.
Adelaide 36ers Coach Joey Wright is excited the date has been set for the inaugural season at the 36ers’ new home.
“I’m definitely looking forward to the first game at the Entertainment Centre and having a big crowd, getting everyone down and getting everyone excited about what we’re doing.
“We’re playing against Brisbane, so we’ll have a few guys that have played here before so it should be a pretty exciting game,” he said.
The three-time NBL Coach of the Year is pleased his side has been selected again to take part in a number of marquee games this season.
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve always travelled and played somewhere on New Year’s, so it will be great to be home on New Year’s and give our crowd something to party about,” Wright said.
Times and broadcast details for all games will be announced soon. Download the 36ers’ fixture here.
